ROD THOMAS http://www.balconytv.co.uk 10/12/2008 PRESENTED BY LAYLA ANNA-LEE I'm a singer/songwriter who grew up between two villages in the South Wales valleys with not much else to do but learn how to play a number of instruments and start to write my own songs. I set up my own label Self Raising Records in 2006 and put out my first 7" 'Good Coat' which had lots of nice things said about it. Since then I've put out two other songs as limited releases - 'You Get Goodbyes' which got lots of radio play (thanks to everyone who supported) and 'Your Love Is A Tease' whose video features all my toys from childhood, some ace people have remixed my songs which you can hear at myspace.com/rodthomasremixed, and I've been spending my time going around the place playing gigs and busking on the London underground. (If you see me, please smile). I've been lucky enough to play with some of my favourite artists including Noah & The Whale, James Yuill, Kathryn Williams, Bass Clef, Wallis Bird and Peter & The Wolf as well as playing at great festivals like Glastonbury, Latitude, Camp Bestival, Summer Sundae, Green Man and Innocent Village Fete. I've also been very humbled to have my records played by Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, Bethan Elfyn, Lauren Laverne, Tom Robinson, Rob Da Bank, Nick Luscombe and Gideon Coe amongst others. Thomas and Friends "Mad Bomber" Episode 1 Rolling Stock Warning to small children who may be watching this video, there are scenes of explosions, destruction and chaos which may upset you, if you are at all sensitivie to the activity of a Mad Bomber I suggest you watch Snails Day Out. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=1llNn5kCse0 Custom Thomas The Tank story where a crazed bomber is hell bent on stopping the coal supply to aid his evil ways. Can Thomas stop the bombings and save the railway from certain doom and restore the stock market price of coal. Who is the bomber?, why is he so bent on destruction and destroying the peace of the coal driven rail system. Is LPG the new fuel to drive the railways, and can the new diesel engine find a place in the sheds with the old steam engines who have ruled the railways up to now. Will the video cameras supplied to the engines be used for security purposes, or will the excitment of a video competition distract them and allow the mad bomber to do his evil work? A note from the Producer of Rolling Stock. Although I was never a Thomas Tank and Friends fan I did grow up enjoying TV series like Thunderbirds, Space 1999 and UFO. All these series exhibited what was ground breaking special effects and models, hopefully this video can indicate just what can be achieved with simple models, a domestic video camera and lots of spare time.
